Video duration: 123 seconds A jam session was cancelled today so I decided to hit some more great tones on camera. Sorry for the digital camera sound. For this clip, I plugged the amp's power cord into a $40 variac (a voltage regulator, inexpensive and great!) (set on 90 volts). I totally recommend doing this!! The Sovtek amps are meant to be played loud. ****Owners of these amps really dig having a master volume installed (it's cheap and easy) -- for this tune I blended the preamp distortion with the power tube distortion using the master vol. - highly recommended. I wanted some 50s PAFs and ended up getting "Tom Short's Vintage PAFs" - hand-wound 50's style PAF pickups with formvar wiring, beeswax potting, etc. They're priced right and the best sound I've heard for classic rock, clean, and distortion.
